Autumn at Osage Hills State Park 30 x 40 $11,500 framed

  This was my first visit to Osage Hills State Park in northeast Oklahoma between Pawhuska and Bartlesville. Fossils found in the park's creek beds date back thousands of years. I was captivated by the area around Sand Creek displaying it's waterfalls, stratified rock formations, and tree-lined shores. It was late in the afternoon, so the sun was lower in the sky casting shadows and radiating light through the trees. I recorded the event with photographs and several sketches, and my mind full of inspiration from the experience, as I prepared to paint the scene as soon as possible.
